The Plague

by Albert Camus (1947)
~~~
There once was a doctor from France
With a whole lot of buboes to lance
For he lived in a town
Where a plague had touched down
Which left no time at all for romance
~~~

There once was a town called Oran
Where a plague sapped the men of their brawn
They sighed and then cried
While most everyone died
An absurd situation, but life carried on

~~~
A nasty plague closed Oran's gates
All inside her would just have to wait
A man yearned for his bride
And tried to stem illness' tide
While the merchants all raised their rates
This is really fantastic. I decided that I wanted to write one about Moby Dick, but I haven't gotten any further than:
"A captain who came from Nantucket..."
